Passports Found, NOT Returned

P207

Few know of our passport debacle. From Jinja's Immigration Officials, to Uganda's Commissioner of Immigration, to the Permanent Secretary, back to the Jinja Police, on to the Deputy Director of Criminal investigation in Kampala, finally landing in the office of the Commisioner of Anti-Corruption... We've chased after our passports since an immigration attendant took them to attain a work permit on our behalf in November. The good news, I've seen and held our passports. The bad news, they're being held as evidence in a criminal case implicating corruption among senior officials of Immigration. They say they'll find a solution to return the passports quickly, but quick is a relative term in Uganda. Please pray for their quick return, our subsequent ability to obtain the necessary work permits to legally remain in Uganda, visas for Gloria and Evan and a US passport for Karis. Any one of these is a headache. All together they present a challenge. Thank you!
